The name Jibrin Baba Ndace isnt a strange one in the media and public relations parlance, hence his recent appointment as Director General/Chief Executive Officer of Voice of Nigeria (VON) come to many not as a surprise but a worthy one, where a square peg is rightly in a square hole.
Having acquired a remarkable career as an award-winning journalist, former Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, and a wealth of experience in public relations and media consultancy, Ndace’s leadership promises to bring a fresh perspective to VON and address critical issues, including countering violent extremism and hate speech in the digital age.
Born on August 17, 1974, this 2002 graduate in English from Bayero University, Kano, has charted an exceptional journey through the realms of journalism, international diplomacy, and peace advocacy.

He is an award-winning journalist, recognized for his contributions to the field.
Prior to his current role, he held the position of Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger state.

Mallam Ndace has made a name for himself as a Public Affairs commentator, Media Consultant, Youth Vanguard, and Peace Advocate.

He graduated with a degree in English from Bayero University, Kano, North West Nigeria, in 2002. Ndace's passion for communication and information has seen him go to places.

During his time at The Market Magazine, he also served as the Personal Assistant to the publisher and Managing Director of Bifocal Communications Limited.

He holds the position of General Manager, Special Projects (GM SP) at the Blueprint Newspaper.
His role at the Blueprint Newspaper provided him with extensive experience as a combat journalist, including being embedded in conflict zones, particularly in the North-eastern region of Nigeria where Boko Haram insurgents had affected the local population for over five years.
Mallam Ndace’s extensive international exposure includes attending media events and workshops in various countries, such as Ghana, Kenya, Togo, Benin, Ethiopia, UAE, Mauritius, Indonesia, Turkey, the UK, India, and Kosovo.
He was the only African journalist invited to cover the historic inauguration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla of Indonesia in October 2014.
Mallam Ndace is the author of a trilogy on Nigeria’s counter-insurgency operations, including books titled “Walking the War Front with Lt. Gen. TY Buratai,” “Duty Call Under Buratai’s Command,” and “The Lonely Grave,” a collection of poems.
He is happily married with children.
