NIGER SSG MOURNS FORMER COAS, M.I. WUSHISHI, SAYS HE SERVED NIGERIA PASSIONATELY By Lawal Tanko


The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has mourned the death of the former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Muhammed Inuwa Wushishi. 

Gen. M.I. Wushishi died in London after a protracted illness.

In his condolence message on behalf of the people and Government of the State, the SSG described late M.I. Wushishi as a committed officer and elder statesman who served Nigeria passionately.

According to Ahmed Matane “late Gen. M.I. Wushishi was a respected officer who spent his life in the service of the state, country, and humanity, adding that his death was a great tragedy and a monumental loss not only to Niger State but Nigeria as a whole.

 “On behalf of the Government and people of the State, I want to convey my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the former Chief of Army Staff and the entire Nigerlites on this huge loss”, SSG disclosed.

He urged the wife and other members of the bereaved family to “take solace in the fact that all mortals shall taste death and we must answer the call of Almighty Allah at one point in time or another” while praying Almighty Allah to accept the soul of the departed, grant him eternal rest, reward him with Jannatul Firdausi and give the family the courage to bear the irreparable loss.
