NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TO EXPLORE TOURISM POTENTIALS FOR DEVELOPMENT.

In commemoration of  the world tourism day being observed every  27th of September, the Governor of Niger State Alh Abubakar Sani Bello has affirmed the commitment of his administration to unveil the tourism potentials abound in the State. 

He stated this at this year's World Tourism Day observed in the state. The Governor re-assured the people of the desire to reposition the sector for optimal performance in an efforts to develop the industry by creating awareness among the people of the vast tourism opportunities available in the state. 

The  permanent secretary of the ministry of culture and tourism, Alhaji Ibrahim D. Abubakar who represented the Governor at the event stressed that there is every need to bring to the fore the activities of the tourism sector due to its socioeconomic importance.

 He then pointed out that the observarance of the day has become necessary to show case it vast potentialities and contributions towards attaining UN sustainable goals(SDG) . 

He added that this year’s theme 'Tourism for inclusive growth' is an opportunity to look beyond tourism statistics and ensure  that every tourism site is fully developed for for inclusive growth.

 He recapulated that it is now time to engage in the wholistic development of the over sixty seven researched and documented tourism sites in the state by  wooing investors to invest in the tourism potentials that in the state.  

The Governor represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry at the event in Tatiko village to mark the  world tourism day, stressed that the the ministry in addition is now focusing on the development of the hidden pottentials at the Rural comminities which he pointed out has economic capabilities pillar to provide job opportunities for  people and positively engage them in meaningful ventures. 

 He further stated that the tourism sector plays a significant role in defining the  socie-economic viability of rural communities. and to create enabling 

It would be recalled that historically every rural community in Niger state has some form of festivals and celebrations that can be packed for international attention.
